Our booking was for a 17.40 arrival at Innsbruck to take us up to Obergurgl. Due to bad weather our flight was diverted to Munich. We were bused back to Innsbruck arriving at 2.30 AM , almost 9 hrs late ! I’d kept the firm advised by texts and phone calls - and sure enough as the bus pulled into Innsbruck airport our driver was sitting waiting for us at 2.30 AM . He then proceeded to load our bags and drive us ( expertly) up the mountain to Obergurgl in thick snow and ice . We arrived at 4.30 am
The driver spoke good English and was extremely polite and professional . I would recommend this firm to anyone needing a taxi in the area - exceptional service at a great price ! THANK YOU
About Ortisei
Ortisei is the largest and liveliest of the three main villages in the Val Gardena – a genuinely beautiful South Tyrolean town with a strong Ladin cultural identity, excellent shopping, and some of the finest woodcarving traditions in the Alps. It sits at the lower end of the valley and provides access to the Alpe di Siusi (Europe’s largest high-altitude plateau) as well as the full Dolomiti Superski area via the Sella Ronda circuit.
The skiing accessible from Ortisei is extensive – the Seceda area above the village offers spectacular views across the Dolomites, while connections to Santa Cristina, Selva di Val Gardena, and the wider Sella Ronda circuit open up hundreds of kilometres of varied terrain. The village itself is a delight to return to at the end of the ski day, with its pedestrianised centre, traditional architecture, and exceptional restaurants.
